We have recommendations to local groups who may be able to help you. Finding the right one that meets your needs or interests can be very fulfilling and truly boost your mood.

Social

Friendly, welcoming social groups can be relaxed and informal and offer the chance to chat and build new friendships.

We recommend local social groups and clubs for women and men which provide entertainment, conversation and a range of social activities.

Coffee Morning

Our all-age coffee morning is open most Wednesdays from 10.30am to 12 noon. Please feel free to pop in at any time, to meet and make new friends over tea, coffee and homemade cakes.

For Friendship and Fun

This is a well established Social Club for people aged 60 and over living in South East London and North Kent. Our social club events include: Meals out, Ten Pin Bowling, Historic Buildings and Gardens, Quiz Nights and more.

Memory Lane Cafe

A relaxed, informal setting for people with dementia and their family, friends and carers. Join us tea, cake, companionship and fun every Friday.

Befriending Hubs

Our Community Hubs are a safe place where older people can socialise, make friends and take part in fun activities. The weekly Hubs are aimed at people who are still mobile but might be feeling a little socially isolated. Our activities include quizzes, craft events, guest speakers, outings to local places of interest, and board games - such as scrabble, dominos or cards - as well as a cup of tea and a nice chat.

Art for Life

Looking for fun and friendly art classes? Our talented tutors teach everything from drawing skills to printmaking, watercolours, pastels, acrylics, ceramics and mixed media. Attend a course or come along to one of our workshops to receive expert guidance and improve your artistic ability, whatever your current skill level.

West Wickham Arts Association

We are a group of like minded artists ranging from the young to the old, the amateurs to the professionals, the socialisers to the fun seekers. From our weekly sessions where you are free to work on your paintings to life drawing, come and work along like-minded artists or even just to make new friends in a relaxed and creative environment.

Walking

Walking is a popular choice both for relaxation and fitness. If you would like to get outside a little more, it can quickly become an enjoyable activity, and there are many groups in your area who would love you to join them for beautiful country walks.

Monthly Walking Group

We meet on the first Tuesday of the month for a circular walk around Kelsey Park followed by refreshments back at the Community Cafe. It is a good opportunity to make new friends and find out more about the wildlife and fauna contained within the park whilst getting fitter.

Ramblers Wellbeing Walks Bromley

Ramblers Wellbeing Walks Bromley organises short and friendly walks in and around Bromley. You’ll receive a warm welcome and plenty of support to make it easier to get active and stay active.

Books

If you are interested in meeting fellow bookworms, there are reading groups in most towns for friendly discussions and thought-provoking debates. We can help pinpoint the perfect book group for you in your area.

Bromley Book Club

Everyone is welcome to join and meet monthly for drinks, nibbles and discussion.

Hobbies

Having a wide choice of groups to pick up an old hobby or start a new one can be a wonderful way to meet new people with a similar interest to you.

Good Will Gardening

Adults of all ages are welcome to attend this drop-in group and meet new friends whilst learning a little about gardening and the wildlife of Eltham informally and at your own pace.

Men & Women in Sheds

Our Men & Women in Sheds’ programme is an innovative, award winning, activity-based package for men and women 50 years+ who would like to get out and socialise with like minded people, work on individual and group projects, share or learn skills, help, and be involved in the community.

Exercise Class

The class is run by a qualified instructor who provides a low impact exercise class for people 65 +, beginners and those returning to exercise. The class is designed for mobility, movement, flexibility, muscular strength, fun and a good opportunity to meet others.

Knit & Natter

Knit & Natter is a social get together, doing wool crafts and nattering - the group meets generally every fortnight on Mondays and share ideas about knitting and crochet, as well as producing their own projects. New members are always welcome.

Music & Theatre

Would you like to join an amateur dramatics group or a choir?
