In memory of
Alice Ingeborg Hay
Alice, beloved grandmother, mother, mother-in-law, sister and wife passed away peacefully with her two children, Andrew and Jacey, by her bedside at Wycombe General Hospital on Sunday 8 November 2020. Alice achieved the grand old age of 92 years 8 months.
Alice loved life quite unlike anyone else we have ever known. Always cheerful, never down, Alice epitomised the mantra of "living life to the full". Embroidery and crocheting were her passions as her children grew up, giving way to a desire to see the world with her sister, Henny and Jurgen, her nephew. St Lucia, Venezuela, Australia, Florida, Canada and Alice's beloved Austria, were the destinations for some of her jaunts.
Her husband, John, a keen athlete, had been fortunate to watch the London Olympics in 1948, six years before he married Alice in the UK. In 2012, Alice joined Andrew for an unforgettable morning of athletics at the Olympic Stadium.
Besides her children, Alice leaves behind her grand-daughters, India and Montanna, her daughter-in-law, Sylvie, her nephews Jurgen and Eckhard in Germany and their families, not forgetting our gorgeous border collie, little Tasha, and Skip, Tasha's predecessor, whom Alice loved with all her heart.
