Tristan Gilbert Roger Lismonde
<p>On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, Tristan Lismonde, a loving husband and step-father, passed away at the age of 70.</p>
<p>Tristan was born on March 1, 1950 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, to parents Joseph Alphonse Lismonde and Johanna Antoinette (Arts) Lismonde, joining his three brothers, Eugene, Raymond and Patrice.</p>
<p>At the age of 20, Tristan came to the U.K. initially to spend a year here and improve his English but never went back and spent 50 years living here. His working life as an International Business Development Manager was full and varied, involving extensive travels throughout Europe and the Far East.</p>
<p>He later met Gwen Gateley in 2004 and they married in 2008, enjoying 16 years together until his passing. Tristan had an immense affinity with animals, particularly horses and dogs, and in his youth competed internationally in Dressage. Even in retirement, he would coach riders in his favourite sport. Wherever Tristan was, his beloved dog would be by his side. He was also an avid lover of music with an appreciation for many genres but his ‘default setting’ was soul and blues music. He was known for his gentle manner, sharp wit, his compassion and kindness.</p>
<p>Tristan was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, and his mother, Johanna and is survived by his wife, Gwen, step-daughter Lindsey, his brothers Eugene, Raymond, Patrice and cousins, nieces and a nephew. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 14th October, 2020 at Aylesbury Vale Crematorium, Watermead, at 1:30pm.</p>
