Dana Mary Cressy Brown

BROWN, Dana Mary Cressy, formerly Stenstrom (née Morley), 87, passed suddenly on 31 July 2020 at her home in Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire. She was born 15 December 1932 in London to William Edward and Cressy Alice (nee Barlow) Morley. Having survived the bombing of London and tuberculosis as a child, she grew up to lead a full and rewarding life.

Dana’s first 30 years of married life with Joseph F. Stenstrom, who served in the U.S. Navy, took them to various duty stations around the world as they raised their three children. Following their divorce, Dana married Peter J. Brown and they celebrated almost 38 years of marriage in Stoke Mandeville.

A devoted wife, mother, sister and Nana, Dana was known for her kind and compassionate spirit. She was intelligent and a forever student, had an amazing memory, never met a stranger and had time for everyone. She enjoyed being a homemaker and volunteer, as well as traveling, genealogy, spending time on her computer, gardening, she adored her dogs and taking care of wildlife in her backyard. Dana was a very determined person and lived life her way.

Dana is survived by her loving husband, Peter, her children Linda Eley (William), David Stenstrom (Valerie), Carl Stenstrom, stepson Philip Brown (Tina), seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Alison Morley and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by brother Edward A. Morley and a grandson.

Dana was loved and cherished by family and friends who will miss her and are grateful for the life they had with her.
