In memory of

Edward Charles Childe (Ted)

Edward “Ted” Chllde, 21st June 1932 – 13thApril 2025, born Lambeth, South London son of Charles and Louisa, married to Joan 16th November 1963, father to Barry & Robert 7th June 1966, Grandfather to David 7th July 1995 and Rachel 28th July 1998.
Ted grew up in the Vauxhall/Lambeth walk area of South London, following his school years at Vauxhall School in Lambeth, Ted started a job repairing typewriters, this led to a move into the publishing/printing world. He met future wife Joan on a work outing to Margate, He continued for many years in the printing world, working for newspapers the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail, he also became a London Taxi driver and once he retired from the print, this was his vocation till his retirement at 65 in Seaford East Sussex.
Ted at a young age was an active boxer, footballer and lifelong Chelsea fan, he was also later a keen golfer, playing at London Scottish Golf Club whilst in living in Wimbledon and later at Seaford Golf Club in East Sussex.
