Sujata Bandyopadhyay
Born in Bishnupur, India, the former capital of the Malla Kings of Bengal, Sujata held a Masters in Chemistry from the University of Calcutta. She moved to the UK in 1998 after marrying her husband, who was pursuing advanced training in Medicine. Blessed with a daughter and a son two years later, Sujata dedicated herself fully to her children before retraining as a teaching assistant. Since 2015, she has been a valued member of the staff at West Green Primary School. A talented amateur singer, she was rekindling her musical career with the support of Dr. Ananda Gupta.
In June 2024, Sujata was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. After a courageous battle, she passed away on 29th November 2024, at the age of 51, leaving behind her loving husband, daughter, and son.
