In memory of

David Ryan Jones (Ryan)

David Ryan Jones was sadly taken too soon on the 4th July 2024. He was husband to Rachel, Dad to Alice and Emma, brother to Wyn, Carol and Lynda, son-in-law to Gwen, brother-in-law to Richard, David, Heather, Cathy & Nia and an adoring uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Although officially named David, he was best known as Ryan, Ry, Taff, Pops or Jones the Gap, due to the sporting reputation he gained for dropping the ball. Ryan was a proud Welshman, farmer boy at heart, country and western music fan and avid rugby follower. Ryan loved to help others and be part of a team. He couldn’t have asked for a better career than to serve as a firefighter. This led onto other great work and rich life experiences at Silverstone racetrack and travelling the world with the Formula-E Grand Prix. Ryan’s dedication, wit, charm and charisma was infectious wherever he worked and he made amazing friends along the way.

Ryan leaves behind his beloved family who he lived, breathed, strived for and worshipped. His girls, Rachel, Alice and Emma. Having passed his arduous life-long partner test with flying colours, Ryan welcomed Olly and George into the family with open arms and love, seeing his daughters blissfully and happily paving their way into adulthood. Four became six. Freddie, our adoring Labrador, had the best dog Dad ever. They were never apart and frequented their favourite places together, mostly Silverstone woods amongst the bluebells and the pub.

When you see the earliest spring daffodils, a dragon, a leek or Wales win at rugby, take a pause to remember Ryan for the amazing man that he was.
