In memory of

Joyce May Dow

Joyce Dow passed away on 1 May, three months short of her 100th birthday. She lived a long and full life, enriched by her wide interests and undying curiosity. Joyce loved nature in all its forms – birds, animals, trees, hills and rivers, but especially flowers. Her great pleasure was making and tending her gardens.

Joyce was born in Kent and described an idyllic childhood with her brother and many cousins on her grandparents’ farm. She married her beloved Dennis shortly after the war and had a family of three. She started her career as a hospital almoner in Dartford and continued with social work in Milton Keynes after they moved to Buckinghamshire in 1970. They lived in East Claydon and later Buckingham. Dennis died twenty years ago and Joyce continued with her interests and voluntary work, supported by family and friends.

Joyce will be missed by her three children, Marian, Roger and Genevieve, and their families, together with many dear friends. She leaves a host of happy memories for all of them.
