In memory of
David James Visick
David Visick was born on July 9th 1934, the eldest son of Hedley and Doreen. He lived most of his life in Eastbourne and loved its coastal beauty and the nearby South Downs National Park.
After a two-year stint in the army (REME), David trained as a motor vehicle engineer and spent his working life in the motor trade. Initially at Caffyns Meads Road then at Cornfield Garage (now a Wetherspoons pub). That business evolved into Visick Cars which he owned with his brother Owen and it is still trading today.
When David retired, he used his engineering skills for maintenance at Holy Trinity church and various charity projects, including helping build houses with Habitat for Humanity.
David was widowed twice but was happily married and devoted to Molly for the last 38 years. Over the three marriages David accumulated 9 children, 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren who all gave him immense joy and pride.
David led a long and fulfilling life and is deeply missed by his family and friends. He passed away peacefully on April 18th at The Devonshire Nursing Home. The family is extremely grateful to the staff for their compassionate care.
David’s legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the values he imparted.
