Robert Lawson Russell (Robin)
Robin Russell died peacefully on 9 July 2022 aged 90 years. Much loved Sister of Margaret, Father of Mary, John and David, and Grandfather of Peter and Jenny.
Robin was born in Farnborough, Hampshire on 11 January 1932, the oldest of the two children of Jack and Kath. He married Monica in 1962 and they set up home in Kirby Bedon, Norfolk, and had three children, Mary, John and David. In 1972 Robin took up a job with East Sussex County Council and the family moved to Lewes, Sussex, a town Robin knew well from his childhood as both sets of his grand-parents lived there. He worked for the East Sussex County Council, eventually becoming the Assistant County Engineer in the Highways and Transportation Department. He retired in 1992.
His funeral service will be at St Michael's Church, Lewes on Monday 8 August at 12noon. The church he worshipped in for nearly fifty years and where for many of those years he was a server at the altar. The service will be followed by a private cremation. Family Flowers only please. If desired donations may be given in memory of Robin for St Michael's Church, Lewes.
