In memory of
Gladys Margaret Scutt
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys at the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath on Monday 20 September 2021. Gladys passed peacefully after battling difficulties caused by the heart complaint she had endured for many years.
Gladys enjoyed the final years of her life especially when she moved to her apartment in Haywards Heath in 2018. Previously she lived for many years in Storrington and made many friends there. She was very sad to hear of the passing of some of her friends but always managed to bounce back not imagining for a moment that her own mortality would come into question.
Gladys loved going to Church on Sundays with her neighbours who always took time to look out for Gladys if she became unwell. She was usually first to make donations to support the Church, often being first in line to do so.
Gladys led a full life, especially when her husband John was alive. In later years she took to travelling the world with her brother Henry to experience the many wonders our planet has to offer. Sadly Henry passed away in April 2020.
Gladys will be missed by her friends and the family who loved her very much. She will always be remembered as being a loving and caring person, generous to a fault and with a real zest for life.
It was Gladys's request that no fuss be made of her passing but to have her ashes interred at St Wilfrid's Church, Haywards Heath.
The cremation will take place on October 6th, with a small interment ceremony shortly afterwards.
As St Wilfrid's Church was so important to Gladys, the family thought those wishing to make a donation could do so online direct to St Wilfrid's PCC.
