We have recommendations to local groups who may be able to help you. Finding the right one that meets your needs or interests can be very fulfilling and truly boost your mood.

Social

Friendly, welcoming social groups can be relaxed and informal and offer the chance to chat and build new friendships.

We recommend local social groups and clubs for women and men which provide entertainment, conversation and a range of social activities.

Lunch Club

On Thursday afternoons from 1pm to 3pm we run a Lunch Club at All Saints Clapham Park for anyone in the community who would like to enjoy a lovely meal, tea/coffee, a chat and some bingo!

Generation Silent Bloomer X

This group is for those with some spare time to share stories, hints and tips, discuss current affairs, sip some tea or just have an chat and a laugh. Taking place at Clapham Library, everyone is welcome to come along.

Arts & Crafts

Would you like to get stuck in with an arts project or learn a new craft?

There is so much choice when it comes to arts clubs from painting to pottery making. We can help you find the best group for you.

Clapham Pottery

Pottery classes are held during the daytime and evenings for adults and kids, over a 10 week term, with a half term break. Sunday classes for adults are available on a monthly basis.

Clapham Pottery classes are taught by professional, working potters from The North Street Potters, which was established in Clapham in 1978. We also offer Family Activities. Whatever your ability, everybody is welcome at Clapham Pottery. Classes are first come, first serve.

Walking

Walking is a popular choice both for relaxation and fitness. If you would like to get outside a little more, it can quickly become an enjoyable activity, and there are many groups in your area who would love you to join them for beautiful country walks.

Clapham Common Walk

Join us on a series of interactive walks all through the seasons, where you can explore your local neighbourhood, discover secret places, meet new people, socialise, exercise and enjoy the great outdoors. All ages and fitness levels welcome! Walking time will be approximately 1.5 hours.

Books

If you are interested in meeting fellow bookworms, there are reading groups in most towns for friendly discussions and thought-provoking debates. We can help pinpoint the perfect book group for you in your area.

Reading Group

A book club for adults. We read the best new fiction, classics, and occasionally dip into genres like Sci-Fi and Crime. We select one title and get together on the forth Thursday each month to talk about what we thought of it.

Hobbies

Having a wide choice of groups to pick up an old hobby or start a new one can be a wonderful way to meet new people with a similar interest to you.

We recommend local groups and clubs ranging from chess, bridge, poker, bingo, knitting, to bowls.

Knit & Stich

Join our knit and stitch group at Clapham library. To make knitted, sown or crochet traditional and modern projects. All levels welcome. Wool and needles provided.

Beautiful Belly Dancing

Come and enjoy the rhythms and dances of the Middle East. Gets you moving while having fun. Everyone welcome, taking place weekly on Tuesday from 12:50pm to 13:50pm.

Music & Theatre

Would you like to join an amateur dramatics group or a choir?

Exploring music can be good for the soul. You can join music appreciation classes or join the church choir. Dancing is also a wonderful way to meet new people and have fun.

Clapham Community Choir

We are an adult mixed gender choir and sing a repertoire of various music genres. We do not ask that you read can music.
