I first started my career within CPJ Field as a funeral arranger at Haine & Son in Polegate. I was then later approached to become a trainee Funeral Director, and I jumped at the opportunity, I have now completed my Cert FAA certificate and i graduated in September 2025.
I have worked for the company for just over 5 years. I am a real people person. I enjoy working closely with the community and help organise community events. I love the nature of the role as a funeral director and supporting families during very difficult and challenging times. I find helping & supporting my families at the most difficult time a real honour.
I am a wife & mother and my most favourite thing to do is spending quality time with my family and friends whether that will be paddle boarding, going away on holiday and eating out together. I have in recent years started felting, and experimenting with arts and crafts which has come in useful whilst helping decorate our window displays for events and special occasions.
I have been a Funeral Director with Haine & Son since May 2015 and look forward to many more in the future. It was a great honour to receive my diploma in Funeral Directing a couple of years ago after training for a few years to obtain. I love meeting and helping families in their time of need. Hearing people’s life stories and trying to personalise the funeral around this is very rewarding. I also love being involved in community events such as our monthly coffee mornings held here at the Polegate office which we have plans to extend with our Hailsham & Battle Office. As a team we also enjoy putting together our popular window displays which help brighten our offices and being involved in our community. I am also a designated Dementia Friend and try to promote making our high street dementia friendly.
Outside of work, my passion in life is horse riding and I have grown up with a love of horses and the outdoors. I love spending time with my family and planning family days out, spending as much time with my husband and my two beautiful daughters.
I have now been a Funeral Arranger for 4 years but I have also been a casual bearer during this time. I love meeting and helping new people and trying to make a difficult time a bit easier for them. I have obtained a qualification in bereavement counselling. I love long walks with my new puppy and riding my horses over the South Downs.
I have now been a Funeral Arranger for 6 months so I am fairly new to this role. However, I love learning new things at work as it is very varied. Meeting new people and trying to give the families a unique funeral is what it is all about. In my previous job I was a nurse so I am a good first aider. I have recently moved to the area and I am enjoying my new garden.
It is essential that you choose a funeral director with whom you feel comfortable. Someone who will listen to you and your story, who will remove some of the burden of the many questions and decisions. Likewise, someone who will caringly guide you through the process of arranging a funeral that is personalised and unique, whether you are helping to organise the funeral of a loved one, or simply planning ahead for your own.
