We have recommendations to local groups who may be able to help you. Finding the right one that meets your needs or interests can be very fulfilling and truly boost your mood.

Social

Friendly, welcoming social groups can be relaxed and informal and offer the chance to chat and build new friendships.

We recommend local social groups and clubs for women and men which provide entertainment, conversation and a range of social activities.

Community Coffee Morning

Want a welcoming weekly coffee and a friendly chat? Then drop in to the Community Coffee Morning which is on every Wednesday between 10am-11.30am at Spotlight Community Centre, 114 Serpentine Court, MK2 3QL. Everyone is welcome and refreshments are free.

Social Scrabble

Scrabble games for adults, no booking is required, just turn up on the day. It's free to come along to at Bletchley Library.

Arts & Crafts

Would you like to get stuck in with an arts project or learn a new craft?

There is so much choice when it comes to arts clubs from painting to pottery making. We can help you find the best group for you.

Art Group

Art group taking place on Thursdays from 1.30pm to 4pm at the West Bletchey Community Centre.

WECC Craft Group

Time for fellowship and craft, ranging from card making to floral art from 2pm to 4pm at Water Eaton Church Centre. New crafters are welcome to join in. We meet on the first Thursday of the month and you can come to as many or as few sessions you would like.

Walking

Walking is a popular choice both for relaxation and fitness. If you would like to get outside a little more, it can quickly become an enjoyable activity, and there are many groups in your area who would love you to join them for beautiful country walks.

Walking Wednesday

The Wednesday Walkers group is made up of a variety of ages and backgrounds, who meet on a Wednesday morning (weather permitting).

The group usually start out from the Water Eaton Church Centre and walk through the local area, such as along the Grand Union Canal and through Water Hall Park. However, these walks also take place further afield from time to time, even stopping for some coffee and cake if the opportunity arises. Fellowship and good conversations are had along the way. Anyone is welcome to join.

Walking

Join us for guided walks of 45 to 60 minutes, at your own pace, followed by tea, coffee and a chat. Meet at Mill Lane/Willow Lane at 10am every Friday.

Books

If you are interested in meeting fellow bookworms, there are reading groups in most towns for friendly discussions and thought-provoking debates. We can help pinpoint the perfect book group for you in your area.

Friends of Bletchley Reading Group

The Friends of Bletchley Reading Group meets at Bletchley Library one Saturday each month (usually on the second Saturday) from 10.30am to 12pm. If you're interested in joining, please let a member of staff at Bletchley Library know and the group will get in touch with you.

Hobbies

Having a wide choice of groups to pick up an old hobby or start a new one can be a wonderful way to meet new people with a similar interest to you.

We recommend local groups and clubs ranging from chess, bridge, poker, bingo, knitting, to bowls.

Knit and Chat

A group for anyone who enjoys knitting, crocheting, needlework, chatting. Everyone is welcome! Bring whatever you are working on or start afresh, we will be helping each other out. We meet every Friday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at Unity Park Station, 401 Elder Gate, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 1LR.

Friday Club

The Friday Club offers friendship and support to young people with learning difficulties. The club usually meets fortnightly on a Friday during term time. Its volunteers ensure it’s a safe, friendly environment, providing games and activities such as pool and craft. Refreshments are available. There’s a £1.50-£2 charge per session, though the first session is free.

Music & Theatre

Would you like to join an amateur dramatics group or a choir?

Exploring music can be good for the soul. You can join music appreciation classes or join the church choir. Dancing is also a wonderful way to meet new people and have fun.

MK Community Choir

Milton Keynes Community Choir was founded in 2008 and has expanded rapidly to form a large choir with over 100 members. Providing space allows, the choir is open to all and there are no auditions. To try a rehearsal, please contact the membership secretary.
