We have recommendations to local groups who may be able to help you. Finding the right one that meets your needs or interests can be very fulfilling and truly boost your mood.

Social

Friendly, welcoming social groups can be relaxed and informal and offer the chance to chat and build new friendships.

We recommend local social groups and clubs for women and men which provide entertainment, conversation and a range of social activities.

Good News Café

All welcome to join us on Saturdays from 9:30am to 12pm at St Mary's Church, Aylesbury. All you need to bring is some good news, a smile, and an item of food to share if you are able.

Ladies' Group

The ladies' group provides an opportunity to come together, relax and get to know each other, developing stronger relationships and support for one another. The group provides an opportunity to learn/try out a new craft; recent evenings include making candles and gingerbread houses.

Community Cafe

The community café runs from 10:00 to 11:30 at Long Crendon Baptist Church every Friday from 10am-11.30am during term time. Everyone is welcome. It is a great place to meet friends or come and chat if you have some spare time.

There is so much choice when it comes to arts clubs from painting to pottery making. We can help you find the best group for you.

The Aylesbury Sew and So's

We are a community group (not for profit) gathering together like minded people that Sew, Stitch, Knit, Crochet or any similar needle related crafts. We welcome new members who want to share the skills or maybe learn a new one. There is a fee of £2 per session.

Art Group

The Space (Aylesbury) Art Group is open to all. We hold a mixture of sessions, some online and some on-site. We aim for a fairly open format, allowing people to pursue their own ideas and share learning points along the way. Our Art Group runs on Monday afternoons at St. Mary’s Church from 2pm – 3:30pm.

The Spectrum Art Group

The Spectrum Art Group meets from 9.30 am - 12.30 pm on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. Whatever your ability there is help and encouragement sharing with this non-competitive, friendly, enthusiastic group of men and women. All materials are provided and everyone is welcome.

Walking

Walking is a popular choice both for relaxation and fitness. If you would like to get outside a little more, it can quickly become an enjoyable activity, and there are many groups in your area who would love you to join them for beautiful country walks.

Walking Group

Every Monday morning we take a short walk around Aylesbury. The walk lasts approximately 2 hours, including a refreshment break. The group is open to anyone who would like to join us for a leisurely stroll.

Books

If you are interested in meeting fellow bookworms, there are reading groups in most towns for friendly discussions and thought-provoking debates. We can help pinpoint the perfect book group for you in your area.

Waterstones Book Club

On every last Wednesday of the month from 6pm to 9pm, join us and the Waterstones Book Club to discuss the latest and greatest books and novels. To register your interest, pop over to Waterstones in Friars Square, Aylesbury and talk to their team.

Good Faith Book Club

The aim is to provide a forum for people to explore and discuss matters of faith and what they believe through the discussion of a book in a relaxed, convivial, non-threatening atmosphere. Everyone is welcome to come along and express their views or just listen over a cup of tea or coffee.

Hobbies

Having a wide choice of groups to pick up an old hobby or start a new one can be a wonderful way to meet new people with a similar interest to you.

We recommend local groups and clubs ranging from chess, bridge, poker, bingo, knitting, to bowls.

Messy Church

Messy Church activities will be held on the 1st Saturday of every month from 3.45pm to 6pm. There are lots on offer to suit all ages and abilities from craft, games, stories, table tennis, air hockey and others. It's free but we kindly ask for a donation towards the cost of food. Places need to be booked by the previous Thursday.

Scrabble Group

At Long Crendon Baptist Church there is a scrabble group which meets on the first Monday of each month from 2pm to 4pm, usually fitting in three games - and a cup of tea.

Music & Theatre

Would you like to join an amateur dramatics group or a choir?

Exploring music can be good for the soul. You can join music appreciation classes or join the church choir. Dancing is also a wonderful way to meet new people and have fun.

Choir

Leading the singing in Sunday worship, the choir rehearses most Fridays from 7.30pm at The Aylesbury Methodist Church & Centre.

Time to Sing

Come along to a very relaxed, fun singing session which meets at Long Crendon Baptist Church, Aylesbury on the first Tuesday morning of each month from 10am-11.15am. No musical ability is required. No charge, no commitment just guaranteed good fun and company.
