If you are arranging a funeral, whether that be because someone has recently died, or you are planning ahead, you are most likely weighing everything up, to make the best decisions for your family.
For many families, arranging a funeral can feel overwhelming emotionally as well as practically, especially when decisions need to be made quickly, and within a budget.
At CPJ Field, we believe every funeral should be tailored to reflect the wishes, values, and finances of each family. Costs are therefore always transparent and built around individual choices rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. In this way, we will not let you down.
A brief explanation on how funeral costs are structured
A funeral is typically made up of three main components:
1. Funeral director’s fees
These cover the professional services provided by the funeral director, including care of the person who has died, arrangements with third parties, and the organisation of the funeral itself.
2. Third-party costs (disbursements)
These are fees paid to external providers such as the crematorium or cemetery fees, fees for forms, celebrants, or newspaper notices.
3. Optional extras
Families may choose additional services such as floral tributes, orders of service, or the hiring of a venue. These are entirely optional and can be adjusted to suit individual needs and budgets.
Why the type of funeral matters
The overall cost of a funeral will also depend on the type of service chosen. At CPJ Field, we are proud of the range of funerals we provide from large elaborate affairs to much smaller, more intimate gatherings.
Every funeral is arranged to be personal, meaningful, and to a budget.
You may be familiar with a modern funeral type which is a funeral without a service. This funeral removes some of the elements of a full funeral service. For example, you can choose to simplify things a little, by having no hearse, or no bearers, which can cost more.
There is no “standard” funeral – each one is arranged individually to reflect personal wishes and financial considerations.
