I first started my career within CPJ Field as a funeral arranger at Haine & Son in Polegate. I was then later approached to become a trainee Funeral Director, and I jumped at the opportunity, I have now completed my Cert FAA certificate, graduating in September 2025.
I have worked for the company for just over 5 years. I am a real people person. I enjoy working closely with the community and help organise community events. I love the nature of the role as a funeral director and supporting families during very difficult and challenging times. I find helping & supporting my families at the most difficult time a real honour.
I am a wife & mother and my most favourite thing to do is spending quality time with my family and friends whether that will be paddle boarding, going away on holiday and eating out together. I have in recent years started felting, and experimenting with arts and crafts which has come in useful whilst helping decorate our window displays for events and special occasions.
I have been a funeral arranger for 1 year. It is a very varied role and I enjoy all aspects but especially supporting and guiding families through a difficult and emotional time.
I am enjoying getting to know the people of Battle and engaging the community with puzzle swaps, craft sessions and coffee mornings. My previous career as a primary school teacher has given me useful skills that have come in handy for making our funeral home more inviting, setting up colourful window displays and organising a book character treasure hunt for children during book week.
In my spare time, I like to read, do jigsaw puzzles and attend quizzes. I’m also a keen baker and make jams and preserves with fruit from my garden.
I have been a Funeral Director with Haine & Son since May 2015 and look forward to many more in the future. It was a great honour to receive my diploma in Funeral Directing a couple of years ago after training for a few years to obtain. I love meeting and helping families in their time of need. Hearing people’s life stories and trying to personalise the funeral around this is very rewarding. I also love being involved in community events such as our monthly coffee mornings held here at the Polegate office which we have plans to extend with our Hailsham & Battle Office. As a team we also enjoy putting together our popular window displays which help brighten our offices and being involved in our community. I am also a designated Dementia Friend and try to promote making our high street dementia friendly.
Outside of work, my passion in life is horse riding and I have grown up with a love of horses and the outdoors. I love spending time with my family and planning family days out, spending as much time with my husband and my two beautiful daughters.
I am currently working as a Funeral Arranger in Battle. I also volunteer as a Bereavement Counsellor at St Michaels Hospice. I am a qualified counsellor, and I believe that my experience supporting bereaved clients at the hospice really helps me in my role here at Haine & Son. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, often going for long walks in the countryside or at Rye Harbour. I am also a fan of old Volkswagens, and drag race a 1971 Beetle.
I have been working in administration for 9.5 years. I was employed on a casual basis prior to this too for just over a year. I have lived and worked in Eastbourne all my life. I have raised three lovely children and now have beautiful grandchildren. I have enjoyed working at Haine & Son for the last 18 years where my role is to help families create a lasting memorial for their loved ones. This takes time, compassion, and creativity to assist families in making their choices. We offer advice and suggestions in our discussions. I take great pleasure in helping families and it makes me happy… when I see them happy with the finished memorial.
I have been in the funeral industry since 1985 and worked as a funeral director since 1991.
All of my career has been in the Eastbourne area and I arrived at Haine and Son in 2003. I enjoy helping families through the process of making funeral arrangements, especially helping people when at their lowest.

I have been working as an embalmer across the family business for 5 ½ years. However, I have been in this profession for 26 years doing a variety of roles including chauffer bearer and Funeral Director. Predominantly my main role has always been as a Qualified Embalmer, which is where I am the most happiest . I love my job as this is the last thing anyone could ever do for someone. It can give them their dignity back and to help the families with their grieving. I find it a real honour. We are a small team of 5 dedicated, passionate, and above all respectful and diverse team.
In my spare time, I love to be with my family engaging in various activities such as skiing, paddle-boarding, cooking and holidaying. I live 2 minutes from the South Downs and love walking my son’s French bulldog who seems to know the most direct route to a country pub!
I’m a Trainee Funeral Director at Haine & Son in Eastbourne and have been with the company for two years. Before this, I spent around 14 years as a welder and engineer. I was drawn to the role by the opportunity to support families during some of the most difficult times in their lives. I love the variety this role brings — every day is different, and I take pride in being a good listener with a strong eye for detail.
When I’m not working, I’m busy at home with my two children… and a third on the way!
I have been a funeral arranger for two years now. What I love about my job is that we try to take as much stress and pressure off of our families so that they have the space to grieve and also to make their loved ones funerals as personal and unique to them, so that they can celebrate their loved one and remember the happier times.
I love to design and put together the orders of service booklets, whether it’s the traditional style or more personalised such as football, gardening, animals, air crafts etc. I like to reflect the person who has died and make it all about them. In my spare time, I like to spend it with my family and friends as much as possible and make memories.
