Dad, thank you for everything you have done for Simon and me. It is not fair that we are planning your funeral so soon after Mum. I am gratreful for the time we had with you and miss you so much. You have been and always will be my hero. Love you. Dan

I am so appreciative that we were able to spend some time with you David to catch up, albeit in sad circumstance. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Such a lovely gentleman. RIP David.
I am so sad to lose my oldest and dearest friend. So grateful that we had some time together before David’s passing. My love and condolences to all of the family. David will remain in the hearts of all that knew him in life.
My deepest condolences to the family.
An absolute gentleman, customer, and friend.
An inspiration from when I very first met him in the early 1980's
Rest in peace my friend

Sincere condolences. David or “Butch” as he was know in the watch trade, was a legendary salesman and an all round great man. Fond memories of starting my career with him in 1977.
He was a charismatic, kind and generous man, who adored and was very proud of his wife Carol and boys Daniel and Simon. RIP Dave
It was our pleasure to know Dave, a man with such generosity of spirit, loved by many. We are thankful for our memories and hold them close.
You always stayed positive and managed to make those around you laugh.
RIP David.
With love and memories
David AKA Butch, we started working together in 1990 in WOS 16, New Bond Street. We were successful and professional, but we had fun… the good old days we called it.
You were a force of nature, your positivity, enthusiasm and passion were quite frankly astounding. You never ever took a lunch break, your day was fuelled by cigarettes and water…
The good old days you called it.
I have so many memories and stories, like your many toys and gadgets you used to bring into work! A favourite was the ring that would electrocute anyone you shook hands with.
Thank you for the journey and in your immortal words, it’s been emotional.
Liz
"My heartfelt condolences for your loss. Wishing you strength and peace during this difficult time."
RIP Butch, you were a true legend of the watch industry both in the UK and across Europe. Every time your name will be mentioned in the future it will be accompanied with a smile.
David was a true gentleman, always welcoming, kind and generous. There were many times i arrived at Carol and Daves door with one grandchild or another in tow. Dave always played with them. They all loved visiting him too! Rest in Peace Dave. I know you will be happy that you are now together with Carol again. If ever there was a true love, it was yours.
There have been so many, emotional and heart warming messages for dear David. I am so very proud, of my wonderful brother David. Sam had a wonderful role model, in his uncle David. We all have stories and memories of a strong, kind, warm and loving man. XX
On behalf of the directors of the Watches of Switzerland Group, I want to thank Dave ‘Butch’ for the incredible years of service.
He was a larger than life character, with an unbelievable personality and a fantastic sense of humour.
On a personal front, every time I met Dave, he had the biggest smile, always had a story to tell and was great fun to be around.
Best wishes to the family, our thoughts are with you.
Craig
From the moment I met my lovely father in law I knew he was special. What a gentleman. He had the best smile, the best stories (mainly watch related!) and an incredible ability to charm everyone he met. Thank you to David and Carol for the kindness, love and generosity you showed by welcoming me into the Butcher family. I’ll look after Dan, Simon and Pablo for you xxx
A very sad loss, a great man to work with, his knowledge & passion was unsurpassed. RIP David, gone but not forgotten
A gentleman to the end. We all love and miss him so much. Sleep well Uncle Dave. X
We so sorry for your loss. Having known David for over 40 years we can only think of the world is a poorer place without him. We both have many wonderful memories of working with David- Fiercely honest, open and friendly to all, funny and of course the best sales person we have had the privilege to know. Gary & Christina
David was a thoughtful and generous neighbour. His cheerful presence will be greatly missed in the close.
