In memory of
Derek Jon Robert Ascott
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Derek Jon Robert Ascott of Copthorne who passed away peacefully at home on 9th September 2023 aged 101, surrounded by the love of his family.
Derek took over the family business of Stationers and Newsagents across South London after serving in the Navy during WW2.
His passions were model railways, chocolate and country living. Derek is now reunited with Rose, his beloved wife of 73 years.
His family consists of 5 children, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A service in memory of Derek is to be held at Surrey & Sussex Crematorium on Thursday 12th October 13.30pm in St Richard's Chapel, and afterwards at the family home, Kirklinton.
The family have requested donations in lieu of flowers to one or more of the charities that were special to Derek; RNLI, Bluebell Railway Trust and Woodland Trust.
