This came as a great shock to me today. I am greatly saddened by this news.
I often think about our times in the little B block office working on the school timetable or as exams officer with Colin being, what you would call today, my team leader. I still have dreams of walking into the Langleybury staff room, standing by the pigeon holes in a panic, sometimes looking around for Colin to help me understand why I'm still there!
Colin was always there for me with sound, good advice. He put up with my volutility when the stress got a bit much and always brought me back down to earth. He always had trust in me and let me develop in my own way. He was a good friend and confidant and I have missed him these past 30-odd years.

Colin was always our most adamant supporter as a child playing football, and his presence was always appreciated by us all. A sad loss indeed, and my best love and wishes to Andrea, James and everyone else in his family. All the best Colin x

I was so sorry to hear of Colins death and the fact that we haven't met up recently. I will always be thankful for the support, friendship and common sense he showed and the fun we had at Langleybury, on our various field trips and at cricket at Amersham on the hill. Colin was a great fellow supporter at many swimming competitions. He was always cheerful and positive. We will always remember him with great fondness.

Dearest Colin. You were simply the best history teacher there was and an excellent mentor to me in my last two years at Langelybury school, where you were my 'sixth form' tutor and I was Head Girl. You remained a friend to me in all the years that ensued, writing lovely, erudite letters, still enthusiastic about the Tudors, our favourite period in history. A passion you instilled in me, which has remained with me throughout my life. Thank you, Colin. I shall never forget you.

To Andrea, Louisa and James. Charles first became aware of Colin and school but we got to know him for the years we were at Amersham Hill Cricket Club where he could win matches with his batting or bowling. Always helpful, coming up with bright ideas when needed, sorely missed by everyone.
