In memory of
Evelyn Mary Tinley
Evelyn was born on December 11th 1939 in Bradford, Yorkshire. Her mother was a dressmaker and her father a teacher.
Evelyn taught at St Peter’s School where she stayed until her retirement.
Evelyn and her mother had many coach holidays in Europe and Great Britain and on these made many lifelong friends.
Evelyn was a very good listener, and talker, and kept in regular contact with her many friends.
Her Catholic Faith was an important part of her life and for many years she came to this church for daily mass. At weekday masses she read and afterwards led the Rosary.
Unfortunately a few years ago she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and, despite all the help from her friends in the other flats, eventually had to stop driving and finally leave Laverstock and move into Sunrise of Southbourne care home. She was very content there and enjoyed the food, the company and the activities, particularly the daily crossword.
In January she fell and broke her hip and this and her many health problems sadly led to her death in Bournemouth hospital in April.
Evelyn was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed.
