    Dear Geraldine,
Rest in peace knowing that you made a huge impact on the lives of many women who had no one to turn to and you made every single one of them feel so special and so cared for and so loved. Thank you for shining the light on the care of vulnerable adults and children.
We learnt from you how to be kind and treat every woman the same. You taught us how to go against the grain and fight for what is right. You are gone but will never be forgotten. I hope your family find a way to deal with the sadness of losing you, knowing that your memory will live on.

What a huge loss to the St Thomas' family. I know I speak on behalf of the MSW's who used to love seeing Geraldine at our training days. She would tell us tales of cases that she had worked on, while hammering home the message that we were all responsible for safeguarding, and for looking out for our women and their childre. A truly inspirational midwife, I know that she will be missed by everyone. We are thinking of her family at this time

Geraldine was such a beautiful soul. She improved the lives of all she met and strived harder than anyone I've ever known to help the women in her care. She was always so joyful and kind. Such compassion and care for all is a rare gift. Geraldine will be terribly missed by all at GSTT.

    Dear Geraldine,

You will be remembered by me as the kindest and most caring midwife who went above and beyond to look after those who most needed it, especially in your safeguarding role. Through your role as a Supervisor of Midwives and Mentor you helped to support and guide so many midwives and train them to be compassionate and caring and listen to what women had to say. You always made me laugh at your despair with using computers and hatred of all things IT related!

Sending love and best wishes to all your family at this difficult time.

I first met Geraldine in September 1980 when I start working as a nursery nurse on Haydon ward, St Thomas. She was the staff midwife at the time.
It was my first job and she was so lovely she had brilliant sense of humour.
We both lived in the nurses home at the old Lambeth Hospital.
One memory I have is a group of us would go out jogging and she decided to come with us! however she never came again. 
Through the years our paths kept crossing at work and we would chat and talk about the past experiences at the hospital.
I have such fond memories of her and was really saddened when I heard the news.
My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

I met Geraldine in 2008 at St Thomas for a sit down after a very traumatic birth where I was awake for three days. I was in severe pain for nearly a year after. I had questions and she was head of midwifery at the time. She went through what happened, was compassionate and understanding of my trauma and my need to process it all as part of my recovery. She even hand delivered a copy of my birthing notes for me to my flat in Gipsy Hill. I have never forgotten her kindness and understanding or her name. I am so sad to hear this news and found out by chance from a friend who's sister in law is a midwife. They knew I had sung her praises and that she made a deep impression on me and my recovery. I went on to have two more children and I have never forgotten her. A wonderful woman

I worked with Geraldine for over a decade looking after vulnerable women and families. The qualities I take from our professional relationship are many and I will never forget the many occaisons that she would offer apologies to women who walked out of the ward, women didnt attend multidisciplinary meetings, the length she would go to get women transport so they could attend consultant appointments. Her calmness and caring nature was unmeasureable and touched many families and staff at GSTT. Geraldine will forever be remembered and missed by many. Gone too soon. Rest in eternity Geraldine.

I'm so very sorry to hear this. I didn't know Geraldine well on a personal level but she did have a tremendous impact on me during my pregnancy with my first born son. I suffered terribly with hyperemesis gravidarum (severe pregnancy sickness) and by the time I was 12 weeks pregnant, I began to have a mental breakdown because I had not been able to eat, drink or sleep properly since I was 4 weeks pregnant and I couldn't keep down the pregnancy sickness tablets I'd been prescribed. No one took me seriously. I went to the GP and they referred me to MASH. I met Geraldine and she was the first person who took my illness seriously. She prescribed me much stronger medication and within a week I was much better. Even once I had my son she was doing things to help me, such as finding me a room on my own on the ward to help me with breast feeding to give me more privacy. What an inspirational woman 🙏 Thank you Geraldine for listening to me and helping me through such a difficult time when no other medical professional was listening or understood what Hyperemesis was xxx Pic of me and my son 🥰
