So sad to hear about Madeline passing. She was a very special lady, such a character. I worked with her for a few years at Shelleys (I was on receptio in the mornings)
and I still talk about her from time to time. I particularly remember her standing in reception telling me how she hated Americans, just as the guests in question walked in, at which point she put on her trlephone voice and said "Good afternoon sir, your room is this way" and then of course we both fell about. She always made me laugh and often had wise words. RIP lovely lady and condolences to the family.

With deepest sympathy to all of Madeleine’s family. I had the pleasure of working with Madeleine while she was at The Shelley’s Hotel. She was full of life and would run rings around people half her age when it came to work. Always laughing and smiling. Her smile and zest for life and helping others a to name just a few of her great things she had to offer as a colleague and friend. May she rest it peace always xxx

Mum I want to tell you something so there isn’t any doubt, you are so wonderful to think of, but so hard to be without. There will never be another person like you in this world. You will always be the greatest Mum ever and I thank you for loving me like you did.
Today on Mother’s Day, we should be enjoying a glass of Champagne together, and I would do anything to have you here.
I miss you so much, your adoring Son, Allan Xxxxxxxxxx

I last saw Madeline just over a year ago when she came to cape town to celebrate mike's 80th birthday. Upon meeting up I was given a traditional Madeline greeting "Hello yiddy, you havent changed a bloody bit after all these years, bet your still a stupid prat though", anything less would of been so disappointing .
Madeline had a massive effect on every person she met. Gooner my best mate, probably the best, definitly the toughest and dirtiest footballer I've ever played with was so scarey on a pitch, but as soon as he was around his mum you would think butter wouldnt melt in his mouth, that was the sort of love and respect Madeline deserved.
Madeline will be missed by many people and leave a huge hole in many peoples lives, especially her family .
I was very privileged to play a very small part in madeline life .
    Rest in peace Madeline.
    Yid.
