Lady Stark, one of her kind!

May all her family and friends find strength during this difficult time.

Been thinking of what all should I write here - having written and rewritten multiple times, I felt the best thing I can do is talk about how special she was in how she made others feel when she was with them.

I have known her since 2004, a long time, whenever I met her / spoke with her:
    - She made me feel happy and good about myself - I don't know why!
    - She made me feel that I had her undivided attention - always, only exception being the cat of hers wanting attention!
    - She would make me feel laugh with her jokes (bad ones at times) and guffaw at my really bad ones!
    - She made me feel heard and listened too!
    - She would make me smile - she was always beaming with that generous and beautiful smile, no other way one could respond to it! Even when things were tough!

I truly believe I was not the only one who felt this way - many of us who knew her did.

We didn't speak everyday, we met even less - but she was my friend!

I miss Amie and will always miss her! We know life ends for all of us, but it still hurts - I wish I had more time with her!

    Rest in Peace Lady Stark
    Your birthday twin - Anshuman

I can still see you sat in the Black cat, wearing Mike's coat aged 19 having just come to the UK and from that night we were firm friends. We chatted so much sometimes we would forget to go out and the best times were sat on the sofa putting the world to rights or dancing in my lounge. Do you remember singing Atomic kitten in the taxi all those years ago! Poor driver!

You were there for me when I needed you. Sometimes with a hot water bottle or a wine and you even came and got me when I had missed the last train home to make sure I was safe.

Words will never do you justice my darling friend. Thank you for being part of my life for so long and I will try to keep dancing and smiling for you. Love and condolencies to Mike and all of the Tomkins, I can't tell you how sorry I am for your loss . Hannah xxx

Well, what do I write? I’ve thought about this , rewritten and deleted it a hundred times as there is no true way of putting in to words what a beautiful, funny, loving, selfless, caring and just all round awesome person Amie was.
I’ve got so many lovely memories, but not enough at the same time. Some of the best from in France, I mean seriously, who is gonna be the one who cheats a little at games now? The one who tastes the reds for us and lets us know which are the tasty ones? The one who takes us on adventures to show us wonderful places? The person who’s smile can light up a room… Amie you were such a bright light in this world, you never had a bad word to say, you were always so welcoming to me from the first time we met, you made me feel like family and I love you so dearly for that. I wish that last time before my birthday last year, I had ditched work and came to France like you’d asked. I can’t quite believe I won’t see that smile, hear that laugh or hear your stories, won’t be able to tell you about books I’d read which I knew you’d love. You will be missed, so very much and you will leave a space in all of our lives that will never be able to be filled. I am just so very grateful for having the pleasure of calling you not only family, but my sister in law. I miss you and love you Amie xoxo

My deepest condolences firstly to Mike, the cats and also to all of Amie’s family, extended family and friends ~ we’ve lost a beautiful person, but she will always shine as the brightest star in the night sky xoxo

Amie was one of the most extraordinary people I’ve ever had the privilege to know. Finding the words feels impossibly hard, as nothing I say could truly capture how remarkable she was or how deeply I will miss her. Her beautiful, radiant self and those warm, kind eyes brought comfort and light to everyone around her. I learned so much from Amie — her wisdom and generosity left a lasting impact on me, and I owe so much to her. She truly always had my back, and knowing she was there gave me confidence especially in the early years of my career, and courage in ways I’m only just beginning to fully appreciate.

Her passing leaves a space I don’t yet know how to fill, and maybe I won't be able to ever.

I’m heartbroken and grateful — heartbroken that she’s gone, and grateful beyond measure that I got to know and love her.

Mike - lots of love to you.
