We were very sorry to heat about the passing of Alan Tutt.
We have some happy memories spending time with him in France in 2008, where he took us to see the WW1 MILITORY CEMETERIES at the SOMME.
With his Good Company and Great Knowledge he made it all so very interesting for us.
We enjoyed that trip with with you and Viv "ALAN" Thank You.

Although I only knew you for a short time Alan, it was a privileged. You took my Mum under your wing when she became a resident in Park Avenue and she always asked where you were when we went down to the garden for coffee. May the Angels take you under their wings whilst you sleep.

    A Tribute to Alan Tutt

Alan spent over four years at Park Avenue Care Home in Bromley. He is sadly missed with deep affection, by both Staff and Residents who shared his life here. Parkinson's Disease was always affecting his quality of life but he bravely remained cheerful, caring and considerate to all. I came to the home over a year ago and had the privilege of sharing a table at meal times. There was never a dull moment. His constant leg-pulling, jokes and teasing brought laughter- and laughter is the best medicine. He entertained us with Napkin Sculptures, recounting happy memories that formed his life, his trips to War Memorials and Zones with like minded, close friends- George being one. Items such as postcards, books, photographs, coins, old documents found their way to the table. Things connected with the World Wars, fiction and poetry were all there. l asked to keep one book- The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady which we both loved. It contained intricate drawing of plants, insects, creatures and extracts from poetry, It is a beautiful memory for me of Alan.

Like me music was an enormous influence in our lives. Through modern technology we can have it at our fingertips any time, any place. Alan and I enjoyed Classical, Pop, Rock and blues music, I have to give a special mention to Dean Martin his foremost favourite. Everybody loves Somebody, Sometime was on his ‘unnamed Gravestone’ Alan told me. I say ‘everybody loved Alan’ As Frank Sinatra sang “i did it my way” was a fitting song for Alan's life.

The morning after Alan died I made a Napkin Sculpture too. A red rose which stayed on his place all day. Thank you Alan for being my friend and mentor on life here. You were SIMPLY THE BEST.

    Love never dies,

    your friend forever

I have been advised not to attend the funeral due to ongoing health issues, but I will sit quietly at that time and remember happier times and playing Dean Martin songs of course.
