I have 42 years’ experience in funeral service in Winslow, having worked my way up from chauffeur bearer to my current role. I love the people we meet and being part of the fabric of the town. I enjoy putting people at ease at a difficult time and all the organisational side of my role. My background is in HM Forces and retail. My outside interests include a love of music, classic cars, and motorcycles. Having been here for so long, I will always care that the business here in Winslow is in good hands and continues to thrive and support the people of Winslow.
My current role is Funeral Home Manager. I have been with CPJ for 10 years. I was previously an army-trained nurse, then latterly worked in the NHS. I love my job as I enjoy meeting so many different people. I feel my greatest strength is my age and my life experience. I wanted to continue caring after nursing. My colleagues would describe me as friendly and helpful. My outside interests are craft activities especially quilting, reading, walking, and my family. When I retire, I’d love to tour around the coast in a motor home. I love to put the music on and bring my sewing machine out.
I joined Heritage & Sons in November 2024. I thoroughly enjoy my role as Funeral Arranger & Administrator, and I take great pride in supporting families to provide the best possible service and a fitting funeral for their loved one. This role also gives me a great sense of achievement. Having lived in the area for over 30 years, I have lots of local knowledge. I also volunteer for a local charity based in Buckingham, Alec’s Angels. In my spare time I love to swim, go shopping and spend time with my family & friends.
It is essential that you choose a funeral director with whom you feel comfortable. Someone who will listen to you and your story, who will remove some of the burden of the many questions and decisions. Likewise, someone who will caringly guide you through the process of arranging a funeral that is personalised and unique, whether you are helping to organise the funeral of a loved one, or simply planning ahead for your own.
