Mary Elizabeth Baines
Mary Elizabeth Baines aged 95 of Tring Hertfordshire, sadly passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Tuesday 19th November 2024 at St Marys Hospital, Paddington, London. Due to complications following a fall 8 weeks previously at her Care home.
Mary is survived by her two children Linda & Colin, her grandson Gareth and her great grandchildren Rion, Emmitt & Nolan.
Mary was born and lived her formative years on a Farm in Church Broughton near Derby, before training as a secretary and working for a firm of Valuer's in Derby, where she met her husband Gerald, they married in October of 1953 and were happily married until Gerald’s passing in September of 2015.
Mary & Gerald moved to Tring from Chellaston, Derby in 1969 following Gerald's career move with British Rail. Mary worked for several local businesses including the then Royal Hotel at Tring Station, and finally the NFU at the Tring Market office before retiring.
Mary was involved during Linda & Colin’s school years with the school PTA, and also with a local youth dramatic group, and the local Young Wives. They both enjoyed the company of a large circle of good friends in and around the Tring area.
We would like to thank the staff at St Joseph’s Tring who have cared for mum so well since she entered the home during Covid in May 2020, and also the staff at Valentine Ellis Ward, St Marys Hospital, Paddington, who looked after mum during those last few weeks.
A Funeral Service will be held at Bierton Crematorium, Cane End Lane, Bierton, Aylesbury, Bucks, HP22 5BH at 12:00 noon on Tuesday 17th December 2024, and after at The Old Swan, 58 High Street, Cheddington, Bucks LU7 0RQ.
Family Flowers only at the service, memorial donations can be made in aid of the British Heart Foundation via the donations page.
