In memory of
John Thorpe
<p>It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of John Thorpe, husband to Madeleine, Dad to Claire and Vanessa, Papi to his four grandchildren on the 14th May 2020.<br></p>
<p>It is evident from all the cards and flowers we have received that Dad was well known for his kind and welcoming nature, not to mention his cheeky sense of humour. He leaves a big hole in our family and it goes without saying that we miss him hugely and always will.<br></p>
<p>We are having a small private ceremony for Dad due to the current situation and intend to have a bigger celebration of his life with all of our friends and family, where we can toast him together, as soon as we are able to.<br></p>
<p>As many people know, Dad was a keen sailor and general lover of the sea. He regularly donated to the RNLI and so as a tribute to him, instead of sending flowers, we are suggesting a donation to the RNLI charity.<br></p>
<p>Also due to their fantastic support during the last few months of Dad’s life, we would also like to suggest donations to the Rennie Grove Hospice, who provide at home palliative care support, and were always there for Dad and Mum any time, day or night.
