A Memorial Service to celebrate John's life is to be held on Tuesday, 1st October 2024 at 2.00 p.m. at St. Peter & St. Paul, Tring. As always John's wish was that people would feel happy and comfortable and that people should wear whatever feels right for them - it is not necessary to wear black.
Reception Details
The Reception for John Edwin Hawkes will be held on:

Later in the afternoon the family will be continuing their celebration of his life at Tring Park Cricket Club. The cricket club, and the friends he made there, were an important part of John's life. Everyone is very welcome to join us in the TPCC clubhouse from 4.30pm. There will be grazing boards available.
With catering in mind it would be very helpful if you could let us know if you are planning to join us at the cricket club after the more formal reception at the Church has finished. Please email [email protected]

It is with great sadness we had to say goodbye to John, loving husband, father, grandad, great grandad, and wonderful friend to so many. His infectious laugh, twinkle in his eye, sense of fun, and genuine kindness will be missed by us all. But the impact he made on so many of our lives will stay with us forever. Please speak of him often and remember him fondly. Remember one of his favourite sayings, "God bless you and those you love". We love you Dad, and may God bless you. His faith carried him through to the end - may he rest in eternal peace.
