Barbara Watts
Mrs. Barbara Susan Watts (née Crowter), fondly known by some as Babs, entered into eternal rest on July 20, 2024, at the venerable age of 86, in Poole General Hospital, Dorset. Her life journey commenced on May 15, 1938, in Woolwich, the district of Greenwich, where she was born to the late Gladys and John Crowter, and spent her early years.
Her parents, then having moved to the suburban area of Tolworth would become Barbara's place of residence till her mid 50's.
At 21, she united in matrimony with John Edwin Fenton Watts and was blessed with three sons, Peter, David, and James. After her marriage dissolution, Barbara demonstrated formidable strength and devoted herself to the upbringing of her children as a single parent. Her later years were graced with the companionship of George, with whom she shared her life until his untimely death in 1991. An avid interest in the avian world, an interest that led to the establishment of an impressive collection of aviaries.
Barbara's pursuits were marked by an intricate tapestry of interests, ranging from her early engagement with poultry farming, bird breeding and to her affinity for the melodious strains of Greek music and the enigmatic realms of science fiction literature and film.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and nurturing through her sons, Peter and James and her grandchildren, Christopher, Michelle, Nicole, and Matthew, who will hold the memory of her loving spirit in their hearts. She now joins her beloved kin, her mother Glady's, father John, sister Janet, and her Son David in peaceful repose.
The final tributes to Mrs. Barbara Susan Watts will be solemnized on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 14:30, within the hallowed walls of the Winchester Chapel at Portman Lodge Funeral Home, 755 Christchurch Road, Boscombe, BH7 7DW.
