Doreen Edna Montgomery
Doreen Edna Montgomery aged 79 passed away peacefully on Saturday 13th April 2019 at The royal sussex county hospital in Brighton,
comforted by her son Leslie cotton after her long struggle with lung disease(COPD).
Doreen was born in Romney marsh Kent to William & Lena Wright on 5th July 1939, and had 2 sisters Sylvie and Mary and a brother William .
Doreen had a difficult start in life but while working as a cinema usherette at the Duke of Yorks in Brighton met Leslie John Thomas cotton(projectionist) and subsequently married.
Doreen and Leslie had 2 children, brothers John(eldest) & Leslie.
Doreen and Leslie had 4 grandchildren from eldest son John.Craig-Chelsea-Tammy-Emily who were loved and adored.Doreens daughter in law su (John's wife) was loved and treated as a daughter by Doreen and all she did for Doreen was so much appreciated.Later 3 great grand children from John's son Craig.Caitlan,Aston & summer who were also loved and adored.
Doreen & Leslie's youngest son Les's partner Donna was also loved and appreciated ,and her 3 daughters clare-laura &stacy who Doreen treated as her own grandchildren and loved them very much.
And their children courtney- archie-ellie-faith-pheobe who she loved very much and treated as her own .
Doreen was a truly wonderful person and was loved by everyone she came in contact with.
Doreen worked as a carer up until her retirement .
Doreen was preceded in death by her parents,sister Mary,brother william.Husband Leslie,And very sadly her eldest son John.
Doreen remarried in 2006 and will be sadly missed by her husband Edward Montgomery who sadly didn't get much time to spend with a truly amazing wonderfully lady.
Funeral service will be held on Monday 13th may at 2pm at downs crematorium (main chapel) bear road Brighton.
Burial will follow at 2.45 pm at Brighton & Preston cemetery.
