In memory of
John Backshell
If you have lived in Glynde for long enough we are sad to say that on Sunday 23rd October , John Backshell passed away.
He had been unwell for sometime and had been sad to leave the village before we had the covid lockdown.
From the mid 60's to his retirement he will have worked on many of the houses as the estate carpenter and had also in this role made gates for the church and repaired the horseshoe on the Forge.
In the messages we have received so far he has been numerously referred to as a kind, genuine, lovely man and it is heartwarming to hear this is how you remember him
