Although we hadn't seen each other for a long time, happy memories of glasses of wine with a lovely chap devoted to his family, hockey, cricket & guitars. He & Maureen had such a strong & very long marriage & it is that strength which will get Maureen through. Sending every sympathy to dear Maureen, Jimmy & family.
Thank you for all the lovely memories, Chris. The boozy lunches in Brighton, the bar-b-q's, the cricket memories and the parties. It just won't be the same without you. We hope to raise a glass to you soon with Maureen, Jimmy and all the family and friends.

Will be thinking of you all at this sad time.
I send my sincere condolences to Maureen and the family. I have known Chris for many years through both hockey and cricket umpiring in both Surrey and Kent, indeed it is barely 6 months since we umpired together at Chertsey whilst Maureen stayed warm in the car. I would have liked to attend the funeral in person but plan to join you virtually on the 12th.
Regards
Mick
My sincere condolences to Maureen and family. Chris was of the world’s nice guys and I will always be in gratitude for his help and advice in my first couple of seasons on the Championship Umpires panel. I know he helped a lot of new umpires and cricket has lost a great ambassador.
Next time I’m up at Chipstead I will raise a glass to Chris
Whenever we umpired together it rained but it gave us time to talk and, having a daughter with Type 1, we had a lot in common beyond cricket.
It was such an honour to have the pleasure of getting to know Chris over the years. Both him and Maureen have always welcomed me into their home and made me feel like part of the family. Chris may be gone but will never be forgotten, such a fun loving, caring and clever man. I will be raising a Chris size gin tonight, in celebration of the life of such a lovely man. Love always, Nicci xx
Maureen, We are so sorry for your loss. Both you and Chris have provided our cricket club with invaluable service over the last few years with umpiring and scoring duties.
Chris will be sorely missed by everyone in the cricket community and beyond.
RIP Chris - Jack Frost XI
Dear Maureen, Jim and family, So very sad that Chris has passed away. I have very fond memories of him going way back playing against him at Bexleyheath HC and of course with Jimmy at Kent U21/Bromley HC and more recently seeing both of you at Holcombe when Chris was coaching or assessing. Everyone at Holcombe HC sends their condolences. Kindest regards at this very sad time, Keith
Dearest Chris
Too many, you were a trusted friend and confidant, you shall be greatly missed and equally remembered
Kindest regards
Mark
Although no words can really help to ease your loss
Although no words can really help ease your loss, we want you to know Maureen you and Jim are in our thoughts. Chris was such a wonderful man and we will miss him.
Whilst writing this, the great memories flood back, being guided by Chris as a junior in the 2nd eleven hockey team, advice on umpiring, sharing food, wine and laughter and always having time time for a discussion on cricket. We will miss you.
Sending our deepest sympathies to Maureen, Jimmy and the family
Maureen, Jimmy and Family,
Thinking of you all today and very sad we cannot be with you.
We have so many recollections of Chris stretching over 40 years – whether playing with him in the Owls, against him at Bexleyheath or experiencing his umpiring skills. Many trips with the Owls such as to Worthing and the Isle of Man bring back great memories. Over the past few years both of us have enjoyed meeting-up with you and Chris at the Robin Gollan Trophy day as well as with our good friend Nimmo Gill - all have been special to both of us.
His passing will be a loss to us all.
With all our love to you and your family,
Peter & Imelda XX
Rest well know be man. Thanks for all your help along the way. Love to family. Simon
