Mark,
I was shocked and saddened to learn of your passing.
It was a pleasure to have known you, and worked for you twice at ATS and Micheldever.
Thank you for putting your faith and support in me when you gave me my big break in my working career as Head of Truck for Micheldever. I really enjoyed working for you, you were a great boss and knew how to get the best results out of your staff.
I will cherish the laughs and the success we had under your leadership. Micheldever are where they are today as a result of the hard work and commitment you put in as part of their senior management team - well done Mark.
You have certainly left a big impact within the tyre industry for all those that knew you. You will be sorely missed.

Sarah, may I extend my deepest sympathies to you and your family. I only new Mark for a short period of time, but can truly say he left a lasting impression with his kindness, stories and personality. My heartfelt condolences.
I did not know Mark for long, but it was a pleasure to work with him. He was a big character and a real gentleman. I know how much his colleagues thought of him and he will be dearly missed by all.
Mark,
...it's not the same without you on the Ops calls...your one-liners will stay with me for a long time.
Regards, Frankie.
Mark never failed to make me laugh with one of his stories, his perspective on life and situations. I admired his passion for life and his attempts to make everyone else enjoy life as much as him. Rest in peace my friend.
A colleague, a sparring partner, a sounding board, a friend and a fellow mischief maker. A privilege to have known you. You will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
Sarah, our thoughts are with you at this sad time,
Its hard to convey in words how much we all thought of Mark.
i hope this sums it up:
WHO WAS LORD HARLEY ?
Who was lord Harley ?
A man amongst men,
A colossus in our Industry,
His like will never rise again
He controlled every meeting and call with decorum
with an air of authority, whatever the forum
Gravitas in spade-fulls, he never needed to shout
but when he took off his glasses you had better watch out
Who was lord Harley ?
A title well-meant
and although never knighted
his grandeur evident
A man who enjoyed his life to the full
You could never call his company dull,
Enthralling anecdotes when you went out to dine
feasting on good food, cheeses, and wine
Who was lord Harley ?
A host beyond compare
His nature was welcoming
warm and with care
I will never forget His Harley-Q event,
music and Laughter in a big marquee tent
Topping up drink when his guest wasn’t looking
Nostrils filled with a big hog-roast cooking
Who was lord Harley ?
A confidant and friend
mentor and colleague
His legacy will not end
I will never forget his great sense of humour
he loved hearing gossip, scandal, and rumour
with banter and wordplay, he was quite a wit
and from a poor situation, could see the best of it.
Who was lord Harley ?
A man I’ll never forget
and I mourn his passing
With sadness and regret
Regret that a man, so much more than a boss
could pass so quickly to us all is a loss
I’m sure that In time the sadness will lessen
but the stamp on my heart is a lasting impression.

A great Mentor at work who has helped me to realise my potential. Outside of work a charismatic, humorous and a good friend. I will miss your shocking, humorous and controversial anecdotes, but most of all I will miss you my friend. Thoughts and prayers to your family.
Dear Sarah, I was so, so saddened to hear about the passing of Mark. I always answered his calls with "Argh - Mr Harley, how may I help you today sir?" He was my very first client back in 2009 when I started working at Performance in People and he was so wonderful to work with. He was a client who always included me in many of Protyre's celebrations and I have such wonderful memories of his laughter, kindness and generosity. I would say during that time he became a lovely supportive friend.
I will miss you Mr Harley. My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with you Sarah. Sending all my love to you and your family at this difficult time x
Mark was a larger than life character that could always make me laugh, taken away far too young. He will be sadly missed. My picture is of Mark holding court as we stopped off for lunch in a lovely french restaurant on our epic London to Paris bike ride
Sarah,
So sorry but I have only just seen this very sad news.
Mark was a fantastic colleague and a very special human being.
Grant him eternal rest oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.
Take care of yourself.
Kindest Regards.
Vince.
