Graham, Nancy and I will always remember our dear friend Babs with love.
She was unfailingly kind and we will miss her so much.
Babs was the very best of people and it was a privilege to have known her and to have been her friend.
We send love to her wonderful daughters and family of whom she was so proud.

Babs, or Aunty Babs as she was to me, was not related but she was my godmother and I always called her Aunty. My mum, Betty, was a very close friend, and Babs was an enormous support to her as well as to me over all the years. I will miss her greatly, but I am just so thankful for knowing the love ly woman that she was. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Babs was a really special person – one in a million. My parents were her next-door neighbours at 26 The Meadway for very many years and they would often say how unbelievably lucky they felt to have Roy and Babs not only as neighbours but as friends. In latter years Babs became my friend too and I have the happiest of memories of all the coffees and cakes we shared. RIP Babs. You truly are irreplaceable

My parents moved to No 32 The Meadway in 1956 when I was 3, the same age as Lyn. We went through Infants and Juniors together, and Sunday School at Methodist Church. Then the Youth Club was formed, and Roy became chairman with Babs wholehearted support. From humble beginnings the club flourished to become a popular Saturday night out. It was in these years that I got to know Babs well, as all our committee meetings were at their house - full of fun, humour and often much hilarity. Thank you Babs for all your love, friendship and support over the years, it's been a real privilege to have known you.

Aunt Babs was such a special lady. I have such fond memories of the Youth Club days and subsequent time spent with both her and Uncle Roy.
Aunt Babs always had time for people, and Richie and I often talk about how understanding and supportive she was.
We feel privileged to have known her and will always hold her (and our memories) in our hearts. As will anyone who spent any time with her.
Such a lovely person who will be sadly missed. May she lie sweetly at rest.

I count myself very fortunate to have known Babs. Her kindness and love has stretched out to so many people over the years. Together with Roy, she gave so much time and energy to us as youngsters at the Methodist Church Youth Club many years ago, where both were inspirational leaders, but also gave their hearts in friendship to all. There was always a warm welcome at their home, and a listening ear.
Babs was a very unique and special person, who made everyone else feel special, too.
Thankyou, Babs, for your great kindness to myself and also to brother John, and for the light of your love. I will always remember you.
Sending love to all the family,
Jan Boyles

A visit to Florrie’s home was always the highlight of any visit to the UK for me growing up. I’m glad that I was able to introduce her to Pamela on our last trip over.
She will be greatly missed by all.

To Auntie Babs, as I knew her, I thank her with all my heart. From young childhood she was always there; ever smiling, laughing; kind and wise beyond words. She and Uncle Roy took me under their wing when I was 14 at Horley Youth Club, and they were the only reason my parents, who knew them well, had allowed me to attend. I have so many lovely memories of chats and hugs with Babs over the years - she always made you feel so special. It was the greatest privilege to have known her, and I will miss her very much. I send my love to her family. Julie Helen xxx

Many of my memories of Grandma are of the wonderful childhood moments every child deserves. The excitement of getting to stay for long weekends during school holidays, the large family get-togethers on Christmas Eve or Boxing Day, the postcards from her travels bringing all corners of the world to my doorstep. In particular, her love of birds is something I've been glad to pass on to my daughter, and Grandma always enjoyed hearing about the blackbirds in our garden.

But what I remember beyond the love Grandma showed me is the love, kindness and interest she showed towards others: from my wife Fen, to her friends, family and neighbours, and even her way of warmly striking up conversation with the staff at whatever cafe or restaurant we happened to be at.

Grandma painted kindness into the world, and the world is a better place for having known her.

It’s taken me a while to write this as I can’t really put into words how Bab’s impacted our lives. She was my adoptive Granny and the boys GG. We struck gold living next to her. Our hearts are breaking for you all xx
