To a very dear tennis friend, we had so many games of tennis over many years and wonderful Christmas parties too. Lots of very happy times and much laughter. We will all miss you terribly, but so grateful to have known you. With our love Paul and Jane xx

We first met Marina when she you used to ride up to our house on her horse with its 'bitless bridle'. This beautiful and imperious lady, not I can say in her younger years, riding without the need for bridle, was magnificent apparition; we, and especially our children, were so impressed. Marina then was very kind to our children, when they took up horse riding, always ready to give advice, go out for a ride and to just generally be there as a support to their, and our, equine incompetence.
Marina and I then worked on the East Chiltington Parish Council for over 5 years, and in that time we came to know each other very well. Marina was an extraordinary woman with huge amounts of energy and dedication not just for the village of East Chiltington, but for all things horse and country. Not particularly computer literate, but that did not stop Marina as she would follow up by phone, or in person, doggedly, anything that she was asked to do by the Council. Marina did not always see eye to eye with the opinions of the Parish Council, but she always had the grace to back down in a totally supportive way, if there was a decision or issue she did not agree with.
Lastly, Marina was a wonderful artist and architect, with the most exquisite taste. So when my wife was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, and we needed to extend our house so that we could instal a downstairs bathroom, we knew that Marina was the person to go to. The story goes that we told Marina what we wanted, and then she went away and completed the drawings. When she came back to us with the plans, she said that she had decided to put the extension somewhere totally different, because she wanted to hide a stink pipe, and she felt it would be more suitable for the house. We stuck to our guns and told Marina that we still wanted the extension where we had originally planned it, and Marina, like with the Parish Council, had to good grace to accept our decision, and then come up with the most exquisite of hand-drawn plans (I remember the builder looking at them and saying no-one hand draws plans anymore). The extension was completed about 9 years ago, and it is absolutely wonderful, and in-keeping with our house, and that is all down to Marina's wonderful artistic eye.
We will miss her so much, and I will miss my cups of tea with her in her beautiful barn.
Kind regards

my deepest condolences to you and all your family . treasure the memories , i first met lady bury when she set up land for permissive bridleways , she was very passionate about her horses she always looked very regal , i used to teach her grandson augusta who she adored , she really wanted him to share her passion with horses, he was very natural on a horse ,she really enjoyed watching him progress. lady bury was very much for the community , i remember riding with sally , rufus , augustas and lady bury around their land , it was a real windy day that would test any rider ,her grandson was riding bob who behaved impeccable ,(thank goodness ) lady bury was a pleasure to ride with .
she was always supportive of the bridleways , always there to help to campaign and try and slow down the traffic so horse and rider could be safe . she will be sadly missed , she had a spiritual presents .
