Dear Jason, Lucy, Jennifer, Harry, Frances, Katherine, Ben & Joe.

My heart goes out to you all at this time. There are simply no words I know of to relieve the journey and your individual paths of grief you are all on. Your amazing mum, your beautiful wife, your wonderful daughter and little sister, she will always be one of life’s genuinely beautiful people, through and through. Anyone who’s been privileged to have been blessed to have Mena in their life at any point for as long or short as they have, knows this to be true.

Jason, Lucy, Jennifer & Harry, you don’t know me. I was in the same school year as Mena. I went to Grove Road Infant and Junior school, lived round the corner, went to Brownies and Guides with your Mum and Ruth we had fun times . Tring school too, my fond wonderful memories. We worked at Arts Ed as teenagers with another friend Trudi, where we got to wear a flattering overall and hat and behaved impeccably in our roles, when your Aunt Katherine worked there too.

Your Mum, will always be with you, she will never leave you, when you shut your eyes, see her beautiful face and smile and feel her embrace, rest in that truth and celebrate her in everything you do. As you are each precious, just as she was too, and remains so in each of you.

Sent with a hug
Much love

Jo xxx 🌷

My dear Jason, Lucy, Jen and Harry,

If only I could find the words to give you comfort at this time. Our thoughts, love and sympathy are with you, and will be always, following the loss of your wonderful wife and mum.
For me, I will always be grateful for the 32 years of fun and friendship I was fortunate enough to have with Mena, from Keele, France, our round the world adventure and the Big Brother house in Berkhamsted. The best letter I have ever written was to your mum, and started the most wonderful of chapters in my life and there’s no one else that I would have shared that time with. When you are ready, you will have your own adventures, and your mum will be with you for every single one of them.
You will always be in my heart too, and I’ll be there if you ever want to hear about or to talk about any of those capers.
Remember though, her greatest and most wonderful adventure was always you.
Sending love, Tapper xxx

Mel was a very close dear friend who always cared deeply for us all and we will treasure all the fun and happy memories that we shared together. We loved playing silly games, sharing food and laughing at ourselves. From the moment that we met you we realised how important family and friends were to you and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to become your friend. You always made sure we had photos of all of us together and even though the kids at times had to be encouraged to take part, we now feel very lucky to be able to look back at those shared memories that we had over the years. We will miss you dearly but you will be forever remembered and celebrated. You created a beautiful family and you will live on in each of them. With all our love

“Melanie was her own unique combination. Superficially a bit quiet. Yet once you got her on her own or with her loved ones a wonderful reservoir of love and laughter would soon become apparent. A smile that lit up a room. Always a worry or three to tell you about, always self-aware that she worried slightly too much. A source of heartfelt wholehearted love, friendship and hugs. We feel lucky to have counted her as a dear friend.” Sending massive Sausagey hugs to The Bees and all Melanies family xx

Thinking if you all and sending love at this sad time. I was privileged to have so many wonderful memories of time with your wonderful wife, mum, daughter and sister. We met at school with Ruthie and also worked at the Arts Ed, getting up to mischief, singing in her bedroom in Tring and Berkhamsted, school trips to Germany and playing hockey in Holland.
