Richard & I were friends for almost 40 years. One of my early memories is going to the Reading Festival with him at the tender age of 16 in 1991. We rocked out to Nirvana, Carter, Iggy Pop & Ned's Atomic Dustbin. Between bands we phones home to get our GCSE results. When we arrived and unpacked our tent and bags, Richard discovered a blue, fluffy seal snuggle toy. He blamed that inclusion on his sister, Sally to the very end... You'll be missed my friend.

I remember Shirles kicking me up and down pitch everytime I played against him but it was always a good laugh and then he become my coach before I moved away and he helped me develop into a better more mature player, will always be missed, too guy

Goodbye, my friend. Our friendship meant the world to me, and I will carry the memories we shared in my heart forever. We have been friends since school and helped each other through some tough times and enjoyed some good times. You are deeply missed and my love and thoughts are with Katherine, Sally & Steve at this truly difficult time. Rest in peace Buddy. 😥
