Kevin played at our wedding in the church.. his own song about us... it was wonderful.
He was too. If had not been for Kevin inviting me to Keswick Beer Festival I would never have met my wife. So sad to hear of his sudden passing
All Out Love

I knew Kevin through Linda, who is one of my best friends. And although I didn’t know him really well, I knew that he made my friend very, very happy and vice versa.
They were very well suited and enjoyed life to the full. One of my favourite memories is at their fancy dress party last year. They stood out from the crowd with their outfits.
They travelled everywhere together.
Kevin - God bless you and may you rest in peace. Sue and Alan Xx

I met Kevin when he was exhibiting his art work at Lowes Court Gallery in Egremont and then discovered he was a talented singer songwriter at the Florence Mine open mike nights. Kevin's presence lit up a room and made everyone feel welcome. He will be truly missed.

We immediately warmed to Kevin the first day we met him.
Quirky, intelligent, with a wicked sense of humour, Kevin was a guy we would always be genuinely pleased to see and always looked forward to socialising with - to say he had a “varied” life would be an understatement!
In Linda he clearly found his soulmate and it is so sad and unfair their time together was so brief.
RIP Kev - we will miss you and the world is a far lesser place without you in it ♥️
All our love and respect

I met Kevin in Carlisle through a friend. I warmed to him straight away with his wit and sense of humour. I always enjoyed listening and talking with Kevin about his life and how he translated this into his art work. I loved his art work.
I was very sad to hear of his passing, he will be a soul missed in this world but heavens gain.
My love to his partner, family and friends xx

Kevin was a talented artist with a kind soul. He had an extraordinary life which had led him to have such empathy for the vulnerable. In Linda he had found a soulmate and we loved spending time with them both. He was loved and cherished. We will miss him.

Kevin came to visit Dave while Dave was ill in Newcastle and proved to be a loyal and committed friend. He was fun and wild, complex and colourful. The world will be a duller place without him. We'll miss you, Kevin.

Within about 10 minutes of meeting Kevin for the first time he was verbally abusing me about the football team I support, and we hit it off immediately.
I enjoyed our heated tennis matches in Brockwell Park, not just for the tennis but also for the tirade of expletives that Kev used to aim in my direction throughout the match, which always amused me.
I also enjoyed the 5 a side football matches. Kev was a much better tennis player than he was a football player. He was convinced he was good enough for the England team, or at least Norwich City.
I have lost count of the number of fun times we had and the great nights out, which quite often ended up with a number of us continuing the party back at Kev’s Brixton flat.
The photo below is of us at a New Years Eve party in 2004.
They definitely broke the mould after they made you mate. You will undoubtedly be missed by many. Rest in peace my friend. xx

I only met Kev a few times through his brother Gary. I knew that he was a teacher working in London but had no idea that he was a war correspondent/photographer. I think I can safely say that I have never met anyone quite like him. Such a talented man. RIP Kev

Myself and Sima both met Kevin independently on the same weekend at different parties in Brixton, I think around 1990. He was instantly memorable and charismatic and we formed a firm friendship going to pubs, parties, and gigs and each other's flats on Tulse Hill Estate. We had so much fun and it was an amazing time for Kevin as he began his travels to the Balkans and Rwanda. Also an extremely disturbing time for him as it shaped so much of his life afterwards. A real mate, an hilarious companion and effortlessly creative thinker. I'm glad you have left behind you photographs, paintings and songs. Gonna miss you brother. Rest in Peace Kevin.
