When Mac and I got married we had a ‘best person’, Chris!
She was a dear, trusting, loving friend; she had a radiant smile and was always caring, positive and bubbly. She will always have a special place in our hearts.
Rest in peace. Karen and Mac and all our love to Nick, Richard and Cam xxx

Dear Nick, Richard and Kam,
I am so sorry to be writing this ....
Chris was such a great friend to me; always positive, caring, non-judgemental and able to give sound advice.
She was the first person I met when we arrived in Brighton to study at the age of 18. We struck up an immediate friendship which developed as we trained and partied during our student days and into the early years of our adult life.
As the years passed and we moved through all the stages of our lives together, marriage, children, teenagers, work, retirement and illness she remained a true friend. We've chatted, laughed and cried though all of it.
I will aways remember Chris as being totally committed and caring to all the people that mattered to her; her two beautiful children, her husband Nick, her friends and of course the children in her care at school. Her love of nature and her encyclopedic knowledge of plant names always lifted our spirits on our many walks together.
I will miss you dear friend and count myself lucky to have known you ...

I had the great good fortune to meet Chris in my second year at college and we have remained firm friends ever since. I met my husband at her wedding and she was bridesmaid at mine. We journeyed through life side by side, watching each others children grow up and flourish. She always had a listening ear and was kind, thoughtful and wise. We shared so many wonderful walks, games and laughs.
The way she handled her devastating illness was an inspiration. I will sorely miss my dearest friend.

Such lovely memories, Chris, of picnics and playgrounds when our children were small, and then later on catching up with you for lunches, walks, plant swaps and the odd motorbike ride with Nick too. Whenever I’m in the garden, I’ll see the lovely plants you shared and remember your warm smile, fun and friendship.
We will miss you,
Love to Nick, Richard and Kam
