Roddy,
You were one of a kind; a master of words; a late-night conversationalist; a thinker AND a feeler. We miss you. We have missed you for a few years already, but now our longing to see you will stay. We love you.
You supported me through some of my deepest darkest moments and that is something I will never forget. Not that I would have forgotten you without that; you are one of a kind.

Roddy - You’ve done so much for poetry and for the development of the work of many, including my own poetry. One of the most memorable moments for me was your fabulous reading of new work at my pamphlet launch several years ago. The poetry community will not be the same without you. Your memory, your wit with words, your presence at our readings and parties will live on in our memories and, of course in the wonderful poetry you've left us with. You are very much missed. Love and gratitude.

Dear Roddy,
I see you laying forth downstairs in the Royal Oak like it was only yesterday. Teasing, debating, pontificating, and then your poetry, like a fresh breeze through the smoke and the pints and the nights that never ended because we were young and just getting started. I’m so amazed by everything you achieved as a proper grown up, and so pleased to have been your friend when we were still wet behind the ears.
I miss you.
