The world is a poorer place without you being here. Having known you for well over 50 years the memories go back to school and then to the Lambert arms Denham. Being welcomed by your family, even though your father thought I nicked cars for a living when you lived in Cowley. When you moved to Wales Kim and I and the boys would travel down for a long weekend. We then lost touch until Matt called on your family and we reignited our friendship which we never lost. We'll miss you mate. Be at peace Bob till we meet again.
Forever in my heart gramps x
So sorry for the loss of Rob ❤️ An amazing man , who will be missed , Our thoughts are with Liz and family xx
We knew each other from the age of five. Same class at St. Mathews Primary, and The Greenway schools, and the fun we had working in your Dad’s shop. Shooting pegs of your neighbours washing line with airguns and being told off for the holes in the bed sheets when we missed the target. Can’t forget the two holidays, one in Spain and the other in Torquay and of course the reckless fun we had on our motorbikes.
You will be sadly missed, but always remembered.
Dear Rob,
Please rest in peace
Fond memories of a loved brother.
"Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star,
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known"
JRR Tolkien
We were 17 when we were introduced, some 50 years ago, becoming founder members of the “LADS” (Lambert Arms Drinking Society). A close group of like minded friends and what great fun we had. Friends then and still friends till the end….Be in peace Rob.
Rest in peace dear Robert - sending all our love to Liz, Jane, Jo and all the family ❤️
I am so sorry that I could not make it to be able to pay my respects. I knew Robert in a professional and private manner. One of my best memories was when we went to my family’s pub for a blues brothers tribute. We had a few shandy’s and on the walk home as we parted ways, I asked if he was OK to get home as he lived near a body of water. Robert said “I will be fine, I will just follow my feet!” At that time and in the condition that I was in, I accepted this as reasonable. At work the next day I asked what he meant. His answer was this “ if I hear my feet going thud thud on the way home, then I know I’m fine. But if my feet fall silent then I adjust my direction as I am going off the path” this made me smile, this was Robert to me.
My sympathy to all the family.

Happy days when we were young
Happy days that were such fun
Lives can change and go there ways
but still remain the Happy days.
