Alex- you were the person that inspired me to carry on into Higher Education when you came into HRC College Turnford back in 2018, I was inspired by what you spoke about regarding the foundation degree and now I have just finished my Master's with a Commendation. Without your support & effort with all of the students at HRC, I doubt I would have pursued my degree. May you RIP. xxx

Alex, you were extremely supportive when I joined NHC. We looked out for each other when we faced challenging times. Despite this, we had some brilliant moments where we could laugh. You were a good friend. It was a pleasure to have known you. Now that you are an Angel, I hope that you have now found peace.

I was in shock to hear of Alex's sudden passing. So young, my condolences to his family and friends. I worked with Alex in my role with the Uni of Bedfordshire and he was my main contact point for BCG. I always enjoyed working with Alex, even when he was giving me a hard work wise time. He worked so hard and truly cared. He was passionate and went the extra step. Alex will be sorely missed by all those that knew him, I am sorry not to have the chance to chat to him again. Alex! You are one of the kindest persons I have ever had the pleasure of working with throughout my career. On my first day at work, you welcomed me with a warm smile that remains vivid in my memory. It is still difficult for me to believe that you have departed from our world. I discovered that you were brimming with ideas and dreams aimed at making a difference to other people’s lives, particularly through your work for the college. Within the short engagement I had with you in this transitory life, our informal discussion went around a variety of topics that I enjoyed most and enlightened me in numerous ways. Thus, you have created everlasting memories not only in my mind, but also, I believe, in minds of many colleagues. As a kind-hearted jolly person, I realised that you were even more remarkable than your name and fame suggested. You left us with dreams and inspirations that will continue to shape your legacy here at the Bedford College Group and beyond. You will be remembered as a caring colleague and friend. Rest in peace!

The loss of someone so integral to our community and to me personally is deeply felt. My thoughts were overwhelmed by our shared moments and the loss of what was to come. I extend my deepest condolences to Alex's family and all of us touched by his warmth and wisdom.

Rest in peace, Alex. Your absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. In this time of grief, I am grateful for the support services provided and may take solace in the comfort they offer.

For Alex:

In the silence, hear our shared dreams,
Echoes of laughter, in scholarly streams.
Look through the words, our visions unfurled,
A legacy lasting, in the academic world.

His wisdom in print, on pages we share,
A mission of learning, beyond compare.
He’s not gone in spirit, his insights we hold,
In every line written, his story is told.

With sincerest sadness,

Atheer Mahir

Alex was unforgettable for his generosity, his helpfulness and his ease to be around. He took great pride in his work. Whilst at North Herts College, His room was full of his posters. I remember he said these belong to me! And now there is a thriving industry on materials produced by teachers. I hope he got his piece of the pie. A wonderful person who will be sorely missed.
