This is so very sad. I will always remember his smile, he was so friendly to us and always showed an interest in our lives and children. When I used to work in London, sometimes we would get on the same train back home as each other, he was always so chatty and helped me once when my bag got stuck in the door. He seemed proud of his family and beautiful grandchildren. I hope wherever he is, he is at peace and surrounded by minis. Love to you all, Hollie, Andri and the girls xxxxx

I was greatly saddened, when Graham told me of David’s illness and to learn the very next day that he was no more was a horrible shock.
Our careers at Royal Mail intertwined over a quarter of a century. He was a wonderful boss and occasional drinking companion!
Emily and l send Alison and family our sincerest condolences.

I first met David over 25 years ago. His mentoring, coaching and pragmatic guidance was a significant influence on my early and latter career. I really would not have progressed without his help, something for which I will be eternally grateful. David was always a pleasure to be around; his wonderful, generous approach to life was contagious. Rest in peace David, you will be missed.

Happy memories of London Postal Region HQ , South East District but especially our time together working for The Post Office Orphans Benevolent Institution. Your support and hard work as Treasurer was particularly valued and instrumental in so successfully managing our finances and introducing our University Bursary scheme from which so many Post Office families were to benefit .Working with you was a delight and having you and Alison as neighbours was also so enjoyable.

David, it's so sad to hear of your passing. Although it's now more than half a century since our schooldays, I still remember you as a quiet, diligent and reliable friend - even though you did become a much tougher character when you were on the football pitch. Rest In Peace.

We have had many fantastic times from our family camping trips to horse racing meetings as members of PBGDC to visits around West Sussex, of course we should not forget all the BBQ’s come rain, shine, warm or cold conditions!
You fought so hard, all who have known you will sorely miss you.
Thank you for being such a great friend.

Sending my love and thoughts to everyone at Uncle Daves funeral, especially Allison, and please apologise deeply for my absence. I wish I could be there. I’ll always remember the fantastic bbqs we had at their house in Potters bar, Dave, Dan and Joe trying to get me and Callum to play football which was never going to work. I will think of Dave whenever I see an old mini on the roads and when it is the Round the Island Race, for the rest of my life, which I’m sure put’s big a smile on his face up above❤️❤️❤️ RIP Dave xxxxx
