Dear Margaret, Tim, Andrew and families, our deepest sympathy for your loss of John. He was a very special cousin to me, taking me to my first movie in a big city cinema (Melbourne). We were so pleased that we were able to catch up with you and John in London in 2017. Keeping you all in our hearts and prayers. May our loving God bring you strength and comfort. With heartfelt sympathy, Carmel, Phil, and Pat and families.

I have very fond memories of Jack and the idyllic times we all had a young people in our first jobs, living in hostels, going to balls, picnics, BBQ’s, swimming in hot summer nights at the river. And the time, when I was living in a flat with my friend Pam and Jack lent us his very superior record collection. My condolences to you Margaret, and all your family.

I was so sorry to hear that Jack has passed away, but he has been and still will be, often in my thoughts. I was Jack's secretary at the OU when he retired and I don't think I've ever worked for a nicer person. Always cheerful and often with a funny story to tell about his dogs and other things. Lots of happy memories.
My condolences to family and friends and my thoughts are with you all.

It was so sad to hear of Jack's death. He was such a delightful colleague at the Open University, even though our areas of work rarely overlapped, but you could rely on him for a wise/witty comment on what was going on and a cheerful appearance at extra-curricular events which contributed so much to the University life of those early years.
