Always in our thoughts. You’ll be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Bernie.
Our thoughts are with Bernie’s family at this sad time.
Fran,
I am so sad for your loss and hope you and the girls are coping. I was knocked sideways when I heard the news as I thought Bernie was recovering and I could carry on going to his gigs and having a chat afterwards as we had in the past. I will never be able to tell him that he got the best girl in the Latin School, but I think he knew that.
Thanks for everything you have done for the local communities Bernie. You have used your talent to help many others in lots of ways. We will miss seeing you as neighbours but always be able to hear you through your music. Rest in Peace and Thank you.

I only had the pleasure of meeting him once at the Woughton Campus Theatre in Milton Keynes, before one of our gigs. Such a lovely, gracious and unassuming man. He had time for people.

I met Bernie at an Alaska gig ages back and he was a normal guy. A bigger compliment I can’t give. He was humble and down to earth and gracious as this fan asked to buy him a drink and sign my ticket.
Mostly I loved Bernies songwriting. A gentle genius and I will miss that. Thank you for your stunning songs and thank you for the hand written lyrics. You were a gentleman.

My deepest condolences to your family Bernie. I first met you back in 1967 and have followed your career ever since and I loved hearing you play your guitars. You were such a genuinely kind man and will be sorely missed.
So sorry to hear of Bernie's passing.
I had so many wonderful conversations about music with him, and l used to be totally immersed in the brilliant stories he shared with me about his life in music.
He very kindly offered to help raise funds for my small charity in Roka, Kenya. He played three consecutive nights at the Radclive Centre in Buckingham, and donated each nights takings to three different causes, including Roka Primary School. I had the honour and privilege of introducing Bernie and his band on stage on each of the nights.
It was a wonderful, generous gesture by Bernie, and the kids at Roka Primary School and still benefiting from his kindness to this day.
Bernie's passing is a sad, sad loss, and he will be so greatly missed.
RIP Bernie.
With deepest sympathy.

Goodnight Bernie, you and your family were so good to me. I will miss you.
Although we were never close cousins I remember Bernie as a newborn living by Church hill, just up the road from where I lived in Rumbolds Lane. Uncle Harry and Aunt Liz were his grandparents and were down the road from us when we moved to Westfields, and I can remember him as a toddler then. I have his book “where is my guitar.” and enjoyed reading it. Sincere condolences to Frances and his daughters. I was at school with Diana Plummer, and knew Anita well. RIP Bernie . Condolences and love to his family.

Met you on the ‘19 Bonamassa “Keeping the Blues Alive @ Sea” cruise in August of ‘19. More than I ever imagined … meeting a “Snake”! Thanks for your kindness (to pose for the pic), your laughter at silly tourists - and, clearly, a demonstration of your gentle ways. And your concerts were out of this world. I promised you that I’d never forget meeting you … and I keep my promises!
