Thinking of Anne and her family at this time. It has been my pleasure to befriend Brian on behalf of Blind veterans. A lovely friendship made with both Brian and Anne.

Dear Dad,

Thanks for all the memories,
Love and support over the years. I remember how happy and proud you were when you received your MBE. You used to say it stood for ‘Mahoney’s Bloody Everywhere’, well now I am sure you are everywhere. Congratulations on a well-lived long life. I hope you are enjoying a glass of sherry with Maggie T somewhere.

Ps thanks for teaching me how to play cards when I was young, it came in handy in Vegas.

Lots of love, your son. Carl xxxxx

Dear Brian, I’d just like to say thank you for me to have the great opportunity to be able say you are my brother in law, from an early age you made a massive impact in my younger and even my older years, thank you also for taking care of my sister with your strength and love. Also the love you showed to both your children and to your grandchildren to. Total respect l. Will always be thinking of you.

Brian was always an impeccably dressed & turned out man. Acted with honour & respect for everyone.
I remember thinking how intimidating he looked when I first met him but he was a true gentleman.
Above all this, he was & always will be a soldier. A member of a family that sticks together, a brotherhood. Rest easy Staff Sargent Mahoney, your duty is done, stand down.
