I feel so lucky to have Aunt Joan as family. Although our visits were seldom being in different countries, when we did have the opportunity to be together, it brought a lot of joy. We were always interested in her and so happy to be in her presence. We are sending so much love to all of her family (our family) and to her friends.

I have fond memories of my Aunt Joan from England. As a child I was enamored with her accent, and life very far away. We always enjoyed her visits to America with my uncle Bob. Blessings and peace to her family in England.

My dear second cousin Joan. Her maternal grandmother and my paternal grandfather were siblings and we re-established acquaintance over thirty years ago.
I feel privileged to have known Joan - such a charming and elegant lady and I will treasure memories of the happy meetings and interesting conversations we had over the years.
My brother, Christopher joins me in expressing our deep sympathy to all the family at their sad loss.

We first met Joan and Bob in the late 1960s when we came to Nottingham University and we remained friends. Both had many interesting tales to tell of their life adventures in France, Japan and Germany. We are very sorry to have lost our best friends they will not be forgotten.

Very sad to hear about the loss of Joan one of our Dowding ladies and who was so highly thought of by all of our Fighter Controller Association members. A delight to meet and entertained by the stories of service life. RIP Airwoman your job is done. I am sorry I will not be able to make the service but I will be thinking of you all at this time.
