You are so missed already. There is a huge hole in all our lives which will never be filled, even though you will always be with us in spirit. I hope you have found some peace and that you are finally able to rest! All my love Xxxx

You are my best friend, and losing you is incredibly painful. You was my best man, my only choice as no one else came remotely close. I will never forget our times away watching Formula 1, so many laughs. I love you mate and always will, RIP my friend, until we meet again xxx

John was a lovely Man, always had time for a chat and a laugh, and by far the best Baker within miles of Heathfield. Time for a rest now.

John, this is such a sad time. 47 years ago we all moved up to big school and you were always the nicest, kindest and most smiley boy in our year. You have worked hard and achieved greatness in our comunity, still wearing that lovely smile of yours. I will miss our little chats in the shop. RIP my friend you will be sorely missed by so many. X

So sad to hear, John was a great supplier and a great man he treasured his business to provide great service, if we forgot to order would always produce an emergency order or message me to let me know. So sad to hear this news especially as i was speaking to him on the Wednesday after his heart attack and he told me what had happened. He was a genuine, honest lovely man who took pride in his business through all the issues with Covid we ha e had to deal with for 18 months , I also know his so. In law through the cafe and John will be so sadly missed a very hone loyal cheerful businessman of Heathfield x

Daddy, I wish you could see just how much impact you made on your community. My world has been turned upside down and the only person I need for advice right now is you. No-one will ever be able to fill the space you hold in my heart. Thank you for everything always 💕

Thinking of you all....a candle to be lit because John was truly a one of a kind. I know I haven't worked that long with 'the team' but it just felt right whilst I was there, his presence and the chats I had with him whilst I brought him a cup of tea will be truly missed.
Sending my love to you all,

Tinks x

John, you was a gem. When I left school you gave me a job working in the shop. You never minded when I gave a special offer late in the day of the leftovers trying to clear what was remaining. You always gave me a cuddle and we always had a laugh. A jam doughnut will never pass my lips again without thinking about you. Can't help but feel that you was taken from us too soon, however you can now have all the sleep and rest that you have missed over the years. Sweet dreams I miss you loads.

The word 'Passion' is used far too often, and yet John was truly passionate in his devotion to his work, his staff, and his customers. John was also defined by his decency and old-fashioned good manners. He was both a gentle man and a gentleman. Although humble, he stood heroically above the rest of us. His tragically untimely passing as left a huge hole in all those who had the privilege of knowing him, and our thoughts are especially with Lynsey, Dee, and Jane.
